To get started you need to complete the SDIRA Enrollment Kit using the online form. There is a one-time $50 enrollment fee to establish your account.
Once your account has been established, you can contribute as often as you like, up to 25% of salary (in a SEP). There are no minimum requirements. Also, you don't pay annual fees while holding only cash in account.
If you have an old 401(k) from a previous employer or an IRA, you can Transfer it to open your self-directed IRA and start investing.
You can rent, flip, partner, or get a non- recourse loan for your IRA. Self-directed investing opens up a whole new way to invest in real estate. There are many strategies even for small IRAs.
